Sounds like your weekend in the clouds was amazing! I especially love the story of the local people fighting to keep their lives as is and not giving into mining, even though copper is worth lots of money right now. People are so greedy here, that I'm not sure if a community would fight for the environment and life as simple. Glad you are back home to your host family and showers. This whole trip sounds awesome. And that copper mining story, some people I'm going to Washington with next term have the project of working with a congressman to confront the pollution and mining efforts in Ecuador. Small world. Remember you owe me a jar of dirt.
